Recent Advances in Okra Responses to Drought
نویسندگان
چکیده
Drought is a major abiotic stress that can significantly affect seed germination, growth, flowering, and crop yield of okra. Under drought stress, okra plants actively reprogram the gene expression network adjust physiological metabolism to maintain growth development. Characterizing drought-induced changes at transcriptomic, physiological, morphological levels should provide valuable information for selective breeding against drought. In this review, we summarize recent advances in response survey molecular mechanisms underlying tolerance.

Inducing drought tolerance in plants: recent advances.
Undoubtedly, drought is one of the prime abiotic stresses in the world. Crop yield losses due to drought stress are considerable. Although a variety of approaches have been used to alleviate the problem of drought, plant breeding, either conventional breeding or genetic engineering, seems to be an efficient and economic means of tailoring crops to enable them to grow successfully in drought-pro...

Heterogeneous loss of function mutations at F8 and F9 genes causes X-linked recessive bleeding disorders, hemophilia A (HA) and hemophilia B (HB), respectively. HA is clinically indistinguishable from HB and accounts for more than 80% of hemophilia cases; the former affects 1/5000 and the latter 1/25000 male births worldwide. In Iran, it is estimated that around 4300 HA and 900 HB patients are ...
متن کاملRecent advances in predicting responses to antidepressant treatment
Major depressive disorder is one of the leading causes of disability in the world since depression is highly frequent and causes a strong burden. In order to reduce the duration of depressive episodes, clinicians would need to choose the most effective therapy for each individual right away. A prerequisite for this would be to have biomarkers at hand that would predict which individual would be...
متن کاملRecent Molecular Advances on Downstream Plant Responses to Abiotic Stress
Abiotic stresses such as extremes of temperature and pH, high salinity and drought, comprise some of the major factors causing extensive losses to crop production worldwide. Understanding how plants respond and adapt at cellular and molecular levels to continuous environmental changes is a pre-requisite for the generation of resistant or tolerant plants to abiotic stresses. In this review we ai...
